Implications for Locum
COVID-19 RESPONSE - Implications for Locum Doctors.
Your skills to help keep services running effectively are going to be needed more than ever over the coming months.
The situation is constantly evolving and although there aren’t immediate answers and guidelines, we have been advised that action is being taken by the DHBs to answer questions around the implications for locum Doctors, for example, what happens if you are required to self-isolate.
The New Zealand government are asking people to take responsibility for their own decision making re domestic travel and as a trained Medical Professional, your travel can be viewed as essential. However, it is respected that this is your decision to undertake.
Please keep in contact with us, to update us on your situation and your plans. It’s important that we keep the lines of communication open so that you, the DHB and NZDr are all on the same page.
Where preferred, we can work with you to secure a locum post within driving distance of home, or a longer-term role with local accommodation where you can settle.
Talk to us re what is going to work for you. Our locum page is regularly updated but there are roles that might not have yet made it on there yet so please also call 021 288 6937 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with any queries and/or a good time to call you to discuss options. Out of office hours is fine with us.
