They care about achieving health equity for their community. This means that all people will live longer healthier lives. Mental Health and Addictions is a key to population health and people's wellness that we are now more than ever focussed on connecting up with the wider health and social systems. Innovation and transformation to deliver more effective services and better outcomes for people, families and communities is their approach to achieving their goals.

As part of their on-going commitment to improve health outcomes for their community they are leading the way in developing an innovative new acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit. This will support service users and their family/whaanau, who require an inpatient stay for the treatment of mental health issues. The new inpatient unit is the first of its kind in New Zealand and is equipped to assist with providing better care for the community.
