Wellington’s location at the centre of New Zealand won Wellington the role of capital in 1865. Today, Parliament and the Beehive building alongside it are national icons. Wellington is approximately 8½ hours from Auckland by road, about an hour by air. The Wellington region takes up the southern end of the North Island. Most people here live in the four cities at the south western corner - Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and Porirua. The Kapiti Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) provides support and education to adults experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. In this role you can be assured of a great variety of work. You will be responsible for ensuring that all necessary clinical steps are taken to assist clients to achieve optimal health, wellbeing and safety through the provision of appropriate assessment, intervention and education. You will also need to provide sound mental health assessment, treatment skills and provide high quality diagnosis, treatment and follow up of clients.
The psychiatrist is responsible for ensuring that all clinical steps necessary are taken to assist patients to achieve optimal health, wellbeing and safety through the provision of appropriate assessment, intervention and education. As well as providing high quality diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients, they are responsible for supporting clinical development of this service
Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. CCDHB operates two hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kapiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.
