This largest hospital in New Zealand provides both secondary and tertiary care to patients from many diverse cultural backgrounds. The Adult Emergency department offers an outstanding service to the community and as a SMO you will assess and treat a wide range of cases. The hospital provide opportunities to grow your skills in high fidelity clinical simulation, toxicology, research and retrieval medicine. The Adult Emergency Department is actively involved in clinical and university based teaching ( including the ACME course, ACLS, Ultrasound, ED thoracotomy and difficult airway courses) and is currently involved in a number of key national and international research projects.
Eligibility for vocational registration within the scope of Emergency Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand is essential.
