SPECIALIST PSYCHIATRIST - IN PATIENT SERVICE

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist working 80 hours a fortnight (1.0FTE). You will be joining a highly effective team performing vital work across these inpatient and community services. 

This position is based in coastal city serving a population of approximately 100,000. You will be joining another experienced full-time Psychiatrist in the inpatient service, with full peer support. Staffing across the wider Mental Health team includes: 7 Psychiatrists and 5 Medical Officers/Registrars. 

The well-developed psychiatric services include a community mental health team, with 24-hour acute intervention, general adult, child and adolescent, older persons and addiction medicine.  Inpatient care for acute to rehabilitation is provided through an onsite 30 bed inpatient unit with IPC facilities.

World renowned wineries are nearby and the area is rich in art and culture with many cafes and excellent schools and facilities for families. 

Working in New Zealand

New Zealand has a Multi-Employer Collective Agreement in place across all the District Health Boards and salaries are consistent based upon years of post-specialist experience. NZDr can provide you with all the details for this. 

Benefits include:

• Base salary (NZ$164,000- $244,560) + allowances for job size, on call and availability.
• 6 weeks annual leave
• 2 weeks / $16,000 CME/CPD Allowance
• Reimbursement of your practicing registration fees, college membership and indemnity insurance
• Relocation packages vary with each DHB.
