A small team with a lot of experience

Meet your team

NZDr brings together experienced medical recruiters and specialists in immigration, compliance and business support, all with one thing in common: we know that good recruitment starts with understanding people.

We’re a small team, which means you won’t be passed from one department to another. You’ll get to know the people supporting you, and we’ll get to know you, your priorities and what matters beyond the role itself.

Many of us have made the move to New Zealand ourselves, so our relocation advice comes from personal experience as well as professional knowledge.

Martin King

Director & Licensed Immigration Adviser

Martin brings together extensive recruitment and immigration experience, along with first-hand knowledge of making the move to New Zealand.

Before immigrating from the UK in 2006, he held senior management positions with a publicly listed recruitment business. In New Zealand, he joined specialist immigration advisory company Pathways to New Zealand, where he has played a key role in its growth and has supported many doctors and their families with their immigration requirements.

His role with NZDr combines that immigration expertise with his recruitment background and personal migration experience, helping doctors navigate both the professional and practical sides of living and working in New Zealand.

Martin and his family have called Hamilton, Wellington and the Coromandel home, giving him plenty of first-hand experience of life in different parts of the country.

Kate McKendry

Director & Recruitment Consultant

Kate has worked in medical recruitment since 2003, beginning her career in the UK before relocating to New Zealand and working across the Australian and New Zealand medical sectors. She has been instrumental in establishing and developing NZDr and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and local connections to the team.

Having made the move from the UK herself and lived and worked in both the North and South Islands, Kate understands the decisions that come with relocating. She supports doctors from those first conversations about whether New Zealand is right for them, through interviews, appointment and relocation.

Today, Kate lives in Auckland with her husband and three children and is a firm believer in the lifestyle New Zealand offers.
