A Senior Medical Officer is sought to join the Emergency Department at Wairarapa Hospital, a regional facility serving a population of approximately 50,000. The department manages around 17,000 presentations annually, including paediatric cases, and maintains strong connections with primary care and regional services. The hospital delivers 24/7 acute and elective services across general surgery, orthopaedics, medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, anaesthetics and paediatrics, supported by a High Dependency Unit and CT imaging. The emergency team is collaborative and clinically engaged, with a strong emphasis on teaching, audit, and service development.

Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience and expertise in Emergency Medicine.
Subspecialty interests will be considered.
Hold post graduate specialist qualifications and registration in Emergency Medicine.
Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate and vocational scope of Emergency Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
